Clinic Overview
Session 1: Complete Softball Skills Clinic, 10 am - Noon; Grades 1-7; Members $99/Non-Members $109
This clinic is designed to help prepare players for the spring season. This will be an overall skills clinic in which the fundamentals of throwing technique and footwork, fielding (including infield and outfield defensive positioning), base running, and hitting will be covered. Players will learn the correct sequence of hitting mechanics, and the importance of balance and rhythm during their swing. Player will be taught how to maximize the power in their swing with correct weight transfer and hand path to the ball
Session 2: Pitching/Catching Clinic, 12:30 - 2 pm; Grades 3-7; Members $75/Non-Members $85
Pitchers will learn the foundation and correct fundamentals of windmill pitching. The USA Elite pitching program has been producing successful pitchers for the past 16 years. Players will be taught how to throw to pitch to locations and throw to the 4 corners. Change-up will be introduced to players that can successfully throw to the 4 corners. The clinic will focus on how to grip and snap the fastball correctly, correct arm circle and drills to strengthen and improve arm speed, improving balance and explosion in the pitching motion to improve accuracy, how to maximize leg drive and hip strength to improve speed. Radar Gun and Rev Fire will be used to measure pitching speed and spin rotation. Catchers skill work will include learning the proper stances, framing, throwing techniques, fielding bunts, blocking, passed balls and receiving the ball.Session 3: Hitting Clinic, 2 - 3:30 pm; Grades 3-9; Members $75/Non-Members $85
Players will learn the correct sequence of hitting mechanics and the importance of balance and rhythm during their swing. Player will be taught how to maximize the power in their swing with correct weight transfer and hand path to the ball. Players will work on hitting to all fields, and hitting change ups. Included in each session will be strength training to improve their swing. -
